My Times Are In Thy Hand
Psa 31:15

What a mighty God we serve. A God of whom it is said works all things after the counsel of His own will, a God who has made everything for its purpose. A God who has prepared his throne in the heavens and whose kingdom ruleth over all.

Yes, It is this mighty God that "prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies; who even now is preparing a place for us, so that we may be with Him throughout all eternity. And if that weren't enough in itself we are reminded; "Eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him,"

Did you note all the things that were mentioned about of what God has and is preparing? How Glorious, How Amazing. However, there is something even more intriguing than all of these, and that God is so involved in our lives that He even prepares our trials for us. Yes, our trials, our difficulties, have been carefully ordered by God before they are even allowed to enter our lives.

By prepared I mean to construct, create, build, make, or to bring about. Now I know so of you may have a hard time with the concept of God actually preparing our trials for us, but I find it quite comforting. Be thankful it is He who determines our affairs and not another.

How encouraging then is to know that our trials, our difficulties, have been carefully selected and handcrafted by God to fit our individual needs. He does this so that He may produce in us the kind of fruit He is looking for in our lives.

When I think of our trials being handcrafter by God I immediately think of the passages in Jeremiah and Matthew. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. O [Your Name Goes Here], cannot I do with you as this potter saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

And then in Matthew we read; Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The word "EASY" means, to be gracious, kind, to provide what is needed. Isn't that neat? God provides what is needed in both yours and my life. Your yoke will not fit me, and neither can my yoke fit you. Yes, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." The words, "SEASON" and "PURPOSE", mean to fix a time; as having something in mind.) That something in mind is you and I.

Do you realize how liberating this is? No longer do we have to be afraid of facing uncertainty. We no longer have to shun difficulty, but we can embrace our trials with open arms, knowing that we have received them of the LORD, for God has declared that; "I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness:I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

I trust that you will carefully consider these things today. And know this that whatever it is you're a facing has been Father-Filtered. You are not alone, He is there beside you, and He will uphold you in all things. It is He will cause you to be victorious in all things as you place your trust and confidence in Him.

Listen to His promise. "I go before thee; I will be with thee, I will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." I don't know about you but I take great delight in serving such a God.

I leave you with this closing thought from the Book of James. "When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives, my brothers, don't resent them as intruders, but WELCOME them as friends. Realize that they come[from God] to test your faith and to produce the quality of endurance. And if in the process, any of you does not know how to meet any particular problem he has only to ask God - who gives generously to all men without making them feel foolish or guilty."
