Who Am I?

Many times we find our selves in the ordinariness of life when suddenly we are thrust into circumstances that at first seem not only terrifying, but beyond our capabilities to achieve. Moses found himself in such a predicament.

We read in Exodus 3 - Come now [GOD speaking] therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt Moses response, "Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

Don't you find it a bit bizarre that Moses had no problem arguing his case before the MOST POWERFUL BEING, the very GOD of this universe, but, yet squirmed at the thought of having to stand in the sight of a mere man, Pharaoh in this case?

What Moses failed to recognize was, that the adventure that GOD was soon to send him on was not being arranged in order that God might bring Moses into the spotlight, but rather, to let Pharaoh know who HE, GOD, the GREAT I AM, WAS and IS!

So God was not interested in or giving any credence to Moses' excuses. Rather, Moses was to discover the truth that we too must learn as GOD'S children, and that is, we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God [2Co 3:5]

Yes "the gifts and", in Moses' case, "the CALLING OF GOD are without repentance" Whom GOD has called, He was also equip, one step at a time, as we trust and obey Him, leaning totally on His ability to work in and through us. ALL WE HAVE TO DO FOR THE MOST PART IS SHOW UP.

Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain

Guess what? Moses soon found that GOD was VERY CAPABLE AT DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST, AND THAT IS BEING GOD. And as a result take a look at the transformation that takes place in the life of Moses just a few chapters ahead;

Moses answered the people, Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus Ch 3 & 14)

WOW, ZILCH ABOUT MOSES, AND ALL ABOUT GOD! FIGURE THAT ONE OUT. Nowhere in Scriptures are we encouraged to look at who we are, or to "do life" in our own strength and wisdom. NOT EVEN FOR ONE SECOND. The "arm of flesh" will truly fail us." Rather, we are to look to the who has called us, the GREAT I AM, the ONE who WAS, IS, AND IS TO COME. This is what matters. This is our reason for confidence.

God's promises are tried and true. So today, when you are caught up in things which seem utterly impossible, lift your eyes higher to see the throne of God and open your ears and heart to receive His counsel. Put your faith and trust in all that He has promised. He will strengthen, He will give will give grace and glory: Psalm 84:11

That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord 1Corinthians 1:5-9

It is my prayer that God will make know His presence to you even in the worst of times and
that you will, as never before, look to all the good He is going to accomplish on your behalf.

May God grant you His peace
