Thy Kingdom Come Thy Will Be Done

How courageous of us to believe that God's will will be accomplished, at least on a corporate level. But bring that challenge down to a personal commitment and watch the questions and excuses that begin to pop up. (Examples: Moses, Gideon, Saul, Jonah, ETC.)

Yet the Scriptures speak quite clearly to this area. Mainly that, Not only can we know what is the will and calling of God on our lives, but ignorance of it will not be an acceptable excuse once we stand before God and have to give an accounting to Him what we did with it. (See Jas 1:5, Eph 5:17, 2Cor 5:10 and Matt 7:21)

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven.

And what is the biggest hindrance to understanding and knowing the will of God? Will it can be readily found in the reflection we behold in the mirror every day. The real question we must ask ourselves is, are we willing to let go of our own pride and ambitions, which will only result in death and judgment, and humbly accept God's purpose and plan for our life, which He promises leads to life eternal and results in an eternal inheritance.
(See Jas 1:24, 1Jhn 2:17, Eph 1:18 and Micah 6:8, Php 2:21)

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God - For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's

God's will is neither mysterious nor oblique. It is a mark, a destination for which we are to purposefully aim and head toward. It is a life long undertaking in which there is a whole lot of asking, seeking, and knocking going on! It's what keeps us coming back to FATHER, dependant on Him to finish the GOOD WORK He began the day we first trusted in Him. God's will requires that we empty self in order to be filled by Him and for revelation to occur. (See Php 2:18, 3:14, Matt 7:7, Rom 12:2, Jhn 3:30, Psa 50:3 Php 1:6,)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

Think about it this way, and this is truly exciting, God's Will and Calling on our lives is like His miniature covenant with us. It is complete in that nothing can be added to it, and nothing can be taken away. It is declared to be by God Himself, GOOD, ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT; It is tailored made, specifically suited to our temperament and personality and takes into account our strengths, talents, and yes, even our weaknesses. Especially our weaknesses! (See Ecc 3:14, Psa 139, 1Cor 1:27)

God's Will and Calling for us is His handprint upon our lives, a visible sign to others around us that He is at work in our lives. It is God's Will that sets us apart from all others, making us a valuable addition to the family of God. God's Will is the only thing that will bring us lasting contentment and Him the greatest glory (See 1Cor 12, Ac 17:28, 2Th 1:11). And it is God's Will that delivers us from our enemies; the world, Gal 1:4 - the flesh, 1Peter 4:2 - and the devil, John 10)

The thief comes only to take the sheep and to put them to death: he comes for their destruction: I have come so that they may have life and have it in greater measure (BBE)

It is my prayer that God will make know His presence to you even in the worst of times and that you will, as never before, look to all the good He is going to accomplish on your behalf.
