Beyond the Judgment
Thinking Outside The Box

How many of us base our decision making as if eternity depended upon it. Most of our thinking is so earthly minded, that is to say, "made inside the box". Well consider this News Flash>>>> > There is coming a time - Beyond the Judgment where NOTHING will go unchanged - FOREVER! What could be more alarming to the one's spirit than this?

All of us have regretted some past action. The most difficult thing about it was the fact of not being able to go back and reverse our mistakes (sin), There is nothing more gnawing to the mind than having to live a lifetime of regret from which there appears to be no deliverance. Now multiply that thought by eternity!

Revelation 22:11 says, "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."

These words indicate that there is a day coming when one's soul will be in jeopardy. That the prospect of having to be eternally vexed with an evil conscience without the chance of ever being cleansed or having the opportunity of having one's slate wiped clean will become a reality.

Now here's the Good News! God is not willing or wanting this to be your plight or eternal condition. Look and see His heart on this matter. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2Peter 3:9

Elsewhere in the Scriptures we read, "Seek the Lord while He is near, Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6,7

Seeking, Calling, Forsaking, and Repenting! Now that's "THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX. " Going back to 2Peter we read, "[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness."
2Peter 3:11

God is serious about this thing called holiness. It is to this very thing we are called. Yet how many of us are willing to be cut back, pruned in order that we might have a more accurate view of eternity and what's really important to our Creator? Please listen carefully and take to heart these powerful words from Barnes:

"These facts ought to be allowed to exert a deep and abiding influence on us, to induce us to lead holy lives. We should feel that there is nothing permanent on the earth that this is not our abiding home; and that our great interests are in another world. We should be serious, humble, and prayerful; and should make it our great object to be prepared for the solemn scenes through which we are soon to pass. An habitual contemplation of the truth, that all that we see is soon to pass away, would produce a most salutary effect on the mind. It would make us serious. It would repress ambition. It would lead us not to desire to accumulate what must so soon be destroyed. It would prompt us to lay up our treasures in heaven. It would cause us to ask with deep earnestness whether we are prepared for these amazing scenes, should they suddenly burst upon us." {end of selection}

May the Lord help us to make only those decisions that we would be proud of to follow us into eternity where nothing goes unchanged. "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." 1Peter 1:15,16
