What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1Co 6:19,20

We are not our own. From its very first pages in Genesis to its final Chapters in the Book of Revelation the Bible makes it very clear that we are created beings. GOD'S word informs us, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Genesis 1:1, Revelation 4:11

As Creator and as the One who continues to sustains His creation we are reminded that
everything that exist belongs to the LORD. In Psalms 24:1 we read, "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."

We are included in the "they" of God's creation. When the Psalmist tried to understand this, he was forced to cry out for wisdom in order that he may know how to conduct his life in a way that would please the one who had made him. "Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn Thy commandment." Psalms 119:73

We also are the Lord's by rights of creation. And as our Creator He alone has claim to our lives. The scriptures declare, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:" Colossians 1:16 and John 1:3

What is meant by, God created? It means that God was not employed by another to bring about the creation of the universe. In the LORD'S reproof of Job HE reminds him of this when HE asks, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding." Job 38:4

God was not employed by another, nor did another assist Him when HE brought forth the heavens and the earth. There are times when the maker is not the owner, but GOD, is both maker and owner of all that exist, both seen and unseen. Long before anythong came into existence, GOD WAS! "And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds." Colossians 1:17, Heb 1:2

God did both undertake and complete what HE started and when all was finished HE remarked of HIS creation, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Genesis 1:31

Solomon states, God has made ALL THINGS for Himself. even the wicked for the day of evil.
Proverbs 16:4. Not only did GOD create all things, but, He made all things of nothing. Man can only bring about from what already is. But GOD without any matter at all created and brought into being by the power of HIS word, that which we now know.

For instance, A potter when he makes a vessel, if the clay is not his own then he can not claim full ownership, though he made with his own hands the vessel formed. Not so with GOD! When it comes to our lives the Prophet Isaiah tells us, "But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand."
Isaiah 64:8

He made all without the help another. Proverbs 30:4 declares, "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?"

No one assisted GOD, nor did any in the slightest aid him, or was HIS advisor when it came to the work of creation. GOD alone made all that exist and no one can share in HIS glory. 1Corinthians 4:7 says, "For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?"
